Graduate students Molly Higgins of Pennsylvania State University, Abbey Thiel from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and Anna Waller of the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign will compete for top honors in the 2018 IFT Student Association (IFTSA) Thesis Video Competition sponsored by Campden BRI. The competition, which is in its third year, invites graduate students to share their original research in an engaging three-minute video.

The winning student video will be announced at IFT18 during the IFTSA Closing Ceremony on Tuesday evening, July 17. The winner will earn a 10-day trip to the United Kingdom to visit Campden BRI, the world’s largest membership-based food research organization. The trip will take place between September and December 2018 and will provide the winner with the opportunity to experience each  of the major divisions within the research organization, including science, technology, brewing, and knowledge management, and to visit with UK industry representatives.
