Graduate students Alexander Joseph Taylor from the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign and Genesis Gisselle Guerra Gaitan from Louisiana State University will compete for top honors in the 2019 IFT Student Association (IFTSA) Graduate Research Video Competition sponsored by Campden BRI. The competition, which is in its fourth year, invites graduate students to share their original research in an engaging three-minute video. Additionally, students will submit a personal statement explaining why they should be chosen to visit Campden BRI and the different ways they plan to capture their experience through various social media channels.
Finalists will share their videos and answer questions about their research on Monday, June 3, from 4–4:30 pm at the IFT Central booth.
The winning student video will be announced at IFT19 during the IFTSA Closing Ceremony on Tuesday evening, June 4. The winner will earn a 10-day trip to the United Kingdom to visit Campden BRI, the world’s largest membership-based food research organization. The trip will take place between September and December 2019 and will provide the winner with the opportunity to experience each of the major divisions within the research organization, including science, technology, brewing, and knowledge management, and to visit with UK industry representatives.
