Dress for the occasion
Dress for the event is business casual, so pack accordingly and be sure to account for New Orleans warm weather (although it’ll be nice and cool inside, so bring a light jacket!).

It’s warm! Average high temperatures in New Orleans during June can be around 88 degrees, with mild lows around 73 degrees.

IFT19 will be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in downtown New Orleans at 900 N. Convention Center Boulevard, New Orleans, LA, 70130.

Pickup your event badge
Be sure to pickup your event badge at the registration booth and always wear it throughout the event—as you’ll need it to access the various event areas.

The registration booth is located in Hall G and will be open Sunday, June 2 (8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.), Monday, June 3 (6:45 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.), and Tuesday, June 4 and Wednesday June, 5 (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.).

Hotels and housing desk
The housing desk, staffed by Experient, Inc., can assist you with housing while in New Orleans. The desk is located inside Hall G in the registration area.

Food Expo hours

The Food Expo will be open on Monday, June 3 and Tuesday, June 4 between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., as well as on Wednesday, June 5 between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. IFT Premier members get to access the Expo one hour early on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings!

Take advantage of event shuttle busses
Complimentary shuttle bus service Sunday through Wednesday, between the Earnest N. Morial Convention Center and official IFT19 hotels. Please refer to the sign in your hotel lobby.

Parking
Ample parking is available at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center for a daily fee. Overnight parking is prohibited.

Rental cars

Public transportation
Not renting a car? No problem! The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority provides streetcars and busses that loop all around the downtown area—including to and from the event and hotels.

Construction Alert!
Convention Center Blvd, the road that travels past the front of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, will be under construction during IFT19.  While this will not disrupt the event itself, it may cause some travel delays.  Please be sure to catch an earlier shuttle (see shuttle information above) and leave some extra time.  As a reminder, for those staying at hotels across the street from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, you may have an alternate hotel entrance.  Additionally, there may be an alternate pedestrian crossing when walking from the hotel to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.  Please reach out directly to your hotel for the most up to date and accurate information. Shuttles coming to and from shuttle serviced IFT hotels will drop off in front of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.  Ride Shares will pickup and drop off near Hall A on the far side of the building.  Please be sure to meet your ride share requests there.

Help desk + lost and found
Located in the registration area of Hall G, the help desk can answer any of your event-related questions—and there’s also a lost and found. Same hours as the registration booth!

Bag and luggage check
Located in Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in room 118-119, just outside Hall I’s main entrance. Open Monday through Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Need a luggage tag? Stop by the IFT Central booth for a free IFT luggage tag!

Get event-ready at the IFT Tech Bar
New this year, the IFT Tech Bar will be a place to optimize your event experience. Let us help you utilize your IFT19 mobile app, IFT’s online resources, as well as plug in to our social media platforms and join the conversation.

Boost your career the at IFT Central booth
The IFT Central booth will provide a full schedule of professional development presentations designed to provide you quick tips and strategies for enhancing your communications, negotiation, critical thinking, and career advancement skills. Located in Hall G, booth 2901.

Manage your shipments at the Business Center
The UPS store is located in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center opposite the Hall E entrance. It is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Scooter and wheelchair rentals
Complimentary wheelchairs for use in the Convention Center may be signed out at the Help Desk. Wheelchairs must be returned at the end of each day.

Register for pre-event short courses
IFT offers an array of pre-event short courses that provide the food science community an opportunity to learn and exchange ideas on important topics. These will be held on Saturday-Sunday, June 1-2 at the New Orleans Marriott, 555 Canal Street.
