I dentify, establish and develop new business relationships with key accounts in the assigned region and/or industry branch
Generate business intelligence and market analysis reports

Attend and represent the company at tradeshows and scientific conferences

Required Qualifications and Skills
Ph.D. or Master’s degree in a natural science (e.g., food technology, chemistry or microbiology); background in natural product chemistry or analytical chemistry is a plus
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Outstanding presentation and negotiation skills
2-5 Years of relevant business development experience
Ability to identify business opportunities, drive, negotiate, and close research contracts

Arlington, Virginia, Within the Market Access and Regulatory Affairs (MARA) department at the U.S. Dairy Export Council, provide support and coordination for projects dealing with technical services (dairy science/technology and testing methods of dairy products). Interact with USDEC staff, members, offices, dairy/international organizations, and consultants to ensure information requests are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
Review of international scientific test methods:
Review international test methods/develop USDEC positions (equivalency reviews)

Review technical-related WTO notifications and interpret relevance of new foreign regulations, developing comments as necessary
Provide analysis and develop USDEC comments on WTO notifications
Manage export guide:
Lead editor for assigned volumes of the Export Guide (EG) documents prior to posting – ensure appropriate communications of updates takes place, and ensure the information is accurate and complete
Identify and communicate areas of EG improvement and, upon gaining Sr. VP approval, work with the MARA team to make enhancements
Ensure adequacy of supporting documentation for EG assigned volumes
Project support:
Support Sr. VP and other MARA staff as directed in management and execution of projects
Event support (e.g. seminars, member missions)
Communicate with USDEC members, offices, partners and consultants
Proof-read (and edit) internal technical publications
Education & Experience
Undergraduate degree in dairy science, food science, biology, or related field
Master’s degree in dairy science a plus
5 years of relevant dairy industry laboratory/technical experience
Regulatory experience a plus
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to interpret and analyze scientific/technical information related to dairy science
